How to add or change a network in the Metamask wallet

In this instruction we will tell you how to change the network in the Metamask wallet. By default, this wallet uses the Ethereum network.

Why do we switch between different networks? Users are turning to various cryptocurrency blockchain networks due to the problems of high fees on the Ethereum Mainnet. For example, Base Mainnet offers an alternative with lower gas fees, making it an attractive choice for some users. We can use the Base Mainnet to issue ERC-20 tokens with lower gas fees, similar to the Ethereum Mainnet, making the process more cost-effective.

In order to add the Base Mainnet, Binance Smart Chain or any other network, we need to complete the following steps:

Go to wallet Metamask:

Next we need to click on the network Ethereum Mainnet:

In the pop-up window, select "+ Add Network":

Next, select the network you want to add to your wallet
In our case, we add Binance Smart Chain(BSC)
Click "Add":

Click the "Approve" button:

Congratulations! Binance Smart Chain has been successfully added to your wallet!
You can now switch between Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain:
